Cook cast in NBC pilot 'Next Caller Please'
CookDane Cook has been cast for the lead of the NBC pilot "Next Caller Please." Singlecam comedy, from Universal Television and Lionsgate, also stars Collette Wolfe as a Colorado radio personality who moves to NY to co-host a satellite radio show. Cook will play Wolfe's sexist and abrasive co-host. Joy Osmanski also stars. Pilot was written by Stephen Falk, who also exec produces. Marc Buckland directs. Cook has been a major attraction on the stand-up circuit, playing such venues as Madison Square Garden and the Boston Garden, but has focused on his film career as of late. Berger named Senior VP of Publicity at Liddel
Mickey Liddel's newly minted LD Entertainment has named PR exec Liz Berger as Senior VP - Publicity.Berger recently relocated to Los Angeles to cover a maternity leave overseeing publicity for Screen Gems' "Underworld Awakening" and "The Vow." She previously served as a senior VP at Miramax Films and The Weinstein Co., overseeing national release campaigns on "Finding Neverland," "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind," "Chocolat," "The Cider House Rules," "Dirty Pretty Things," "Clerks II" and "The Nanny Diaries."Berger was also a senior exec for 42West Public Relations and worked on "I'm Still Here," "The Messenger," "The Young Victoria," "Gasland" and "Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work."She also worked FilmDistrict and oversaw the national publicity campaigns for "Insidious" and "Soul Surfer." Berger will be based in Los Angeles and report to president David Dinerstein.The company's also hired Deanna Brigidi-Stewart as VP of casting.LD Entertainment's initial slate includes "Killer Joe," which will have its US premiere at South by Southwest; the horror film "The Collection"; "Disconnect," starring Jason Bateman and Alexander Skarsgard; and the thriller "Black Rock," which was acquired at Sundance.LD Entertainment plans to distribute four to six titles a year and producing four to six movies a year with budgets of up to $25 million. 2013 SAG Honours Date Introduced
Kristin Kreuk The CW finds its Beauty in Smallville's Kristin Kreuk. Kreuk will have charge role within the network's pilot Beauty and also the Animal, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
